Traditional Samp And Beans

You can never go wrong with the wholesome taste of this samp and beans dish. Unite the family and take it all the way back with a meal that reminds us all of home!

  1. Soak the samp and beans overnight in 2 litres of water.
    500g samp, 500g speckled sugar beans, 2lt water
  2. Strain the samp and beans, place in a large pot, pour in the remaining 2 litres of water and bring to a boil then simmer slowly for roughly 1½ hours or until samp and beans are soft.

  3. In a separate pan, pour in the oil and sauté the onions and garlic. Once softened, add paprika and sauté for a further 2 minutes.
    2 tbsp cooking oil, 1 chopped onion, 3 crushed garlic cloves, 1 tsp Amapelepele Paprika Powder
  4. Mix the stock and boiling water, add to the onion mixture and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour the onion mixture into the samp and beans, stir well and leave to cook on a very low heat for a further 10 minutes.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
