Ingredients
  • 250 g macaroni
  • 500 g beef mince
  • ½ onion (diced)
  • ½ green or red pepper (diced)
  • 2 tbsp Amapelepele Beef Soup
  • 1 tsp Amapelepele Steak and Chops Spice
  • 300 g grated cheddar (for topping)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 l milk
  • breadcrumbs (handful)
  • pinch salt & pepper (to taste)
  • ½ cup water
Instructions

    Boil macaroni in salty water.250g macaroni

    In a pan heat oil and add mince. Cook until brown.2 tbsp sunflower oil, 500g beef mince

    Add onions, peppers, spice, and salt. Stir continuously.½ diced onion, ½ diced green or red pepper, 1 tsp Amapelepele Steak and Chops Spice, salt & pepper to taste

    Cook until tender and add beef soup. Add water and cook for a few minutes. Set aside.2 tbsp Amapelepele Beef Soup, ½ cup water

    In a small pot melt butter, add flour and stir. Cook until it forms a paste and add milk bit by bit, stirring to avoid lumps.3 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp flour, 1lt milk

    Stir in the grated cheese and set aside. Add the cooked macaroni and fold into the sauce.grated cheddar

    Preheat oven to 180℃. Butter casserole dish and layer, starting with a layer of mince then macaroni, add more mince and top with the remaining macaroni.

    On the top layer of macaroni add some grated cheese and breadcrumbs. Bake until the top layer is golden brown.handful grated cheddar & breadcrumbs
